There are certainly many factors that could be highlighted here, but one of the most important is without a doubt Customer Service. In general, most companies tend to have rather modest level of customer service, or a service culture, to say the least.

So, doing just a little more can significantly distinguish you from your competitors. "Good customer service" is, of course, a subjective term, but most of us define the meaning of the term in this context quite similarly: you feel that you are considered important and that you are getting the attention you need.
Here are just a few examples:

1) Quick feedback to your inquiries. If it’s not possible to send an offer immediately, it is great to know that your request is already being processed and a quotation will be sent e.g. by tomorrow afternoon. The most frustrating thing for a customer is to wait in total lack of feedback when the products to be delivered have a critical importance for customer and many of his other activities depend on your delivery.

2) Supplier knows you and approaches you personally. For example, they ask if you forgot to order Product B with Product A, because you have always ordered these together in the past. And it turns out that you really did forgot to add Product B this time.

3) With urgent orders, they call you 5 minutes after you have accepted the offer and inform you that within an hour you will be delivered the goods personally by the sales rep as he/she is driving by your location regarding other business.

4) The delivery package sometimes contains a tiny candy box :)

Wouldn't it be great if you could always experience a treatment like this when purchasing a product or service?
